Pumpkin Patch Pictures!!!

This past weekend we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. You never know who you will run into at the pumpkin patch. This year we saw Tinkerbell, Mario from the Nintendo video games, and Daphne from the Scooby Doo Gang.

This particular Tinkerbell did not want to wear her wings. She took them off every time we put them on. We have nicknamed her "Stinkerbell". I guess she will not be flying very far.

A Milestone

One of the first entries I made to this blog was of Rachel riding her bike for the first time without training wheels. Well today is Luke's turn. I am very proud to say Luke can ride a bicycle without training wheels!!!!

It took him two days practicing after school and lots of tears. He was pretty excited once he got the hang of it!! Now that he knows how to ride the bike he really needs to learn to STOP!!! I guess that is our next lesson. It is so rewarding for your kids to learn new skills especially after you work so hard to help them learn how. We are very proud of you Luke!!!

Fiddlesticks Farm

On Friday evening we made a trip out to Fiddlesticks Farm for Rachel's end of the season cheer leading party. We were all excited to get to go for our first time. They have a hayride, corn maze, big slide, a trampoline/jumper, a pumpkin patch amount other fun activities. I really want to go back because we ran out of time to do everything. Here are some pictures of what we did have time to do:

This is Luke's best friend from Kindergarten, Ryan. Isn't he the cutest thing? His big sister is on the cheer leading squad with Rachel.

The kids in the corn maze...it was dark before we found our way out.

There are three different mazes you can go on. Each with a different degree of difficulty. On this particular night after dark they had masked monsters that would jump out at you from in the corn. It was funny listening to all the screams coming from the maze! I don't think I would enjoy being lost and scared!

This was my last trip down the slide. My shoe hung on the slide and made me crash with Kate in my arms. I now have several bruises to show for all our fun! Chris would have come running to my assistance, but he was trying to get pictures of my misfortune and laughing too hard!!!

See nobody was hurt too bad...I am still smiling!!

And the Award Goes To.....

Well we have made it through the first six weeks of school (we are actually in our eighth week I think). The kids had their awards assembly this past Friday. Rachel got the Triple A award. To receive the Triple A award you have to have straight A's, a good attitude, and good attendance. She has always been such a good student. We are very proud of her!!!

And believe it or not, Lukie made the Principal's List Honor Roll!!!! I was so excited about this!!! To be on the Principal's List you must have A's and B's and have a good attitude. Luke has a great attitude about school. Coloring and writing numbers and letters are not his favorite activities, but he is showing improvement.

We are hoping all the good work continues.

Hey Chris, Do You Know Where Kate Is?

We are constantly asking what Kate is up to and going to look for her. This is what we found her doing this morning:

I can't imagine that bread crumbs would make a very good snack.....but Amos was not complaining.

We just never know what is going to happen next around here..... for example this afternoon I had to clean carmel sauce out of my dryer. Luke had put the little container of carmel that came with his apples from his Happy Meal he ate on Friday into his pocket instead of throwing it away with the rest of his meal. Lets just say I had one sticky dryer and some very dirty blue jeans when the buzzer went off. Shortly after my clean up, I got a call from the school that Luke and another little boy ran into each other. The other boy hit Luke in the eye with his head. Luke came home from school with a shiner this afternoon.

Happy Birthday Pop Pop!!! We hope you have a great day!!! We love you and can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving!!!

Oreo Spider Cookies

We made these fun cookies this evening:
Here is the recipe:

1 package of Oreo cookies, try to find the orange colored cream-filled variety
1 can of vanilla frosting
1 big bag of Halloween M&M's candy (We just used the regular king sized bag you can get at the gas station and there were enough M&M's for the kids to get tired of making the cookies.)
1bag of thin pretzel sticks

1. Open the tops off the cookies.
2. Break the pretzel sticks in half, and place 4 per side on each cookie. Place a small amount of frosting on top of the pretzels to secure it in place. Put top of cookie back on.
3. Use a small amount of vanilla frosting and add M&M eyes to the cookie tops.


Kate made her own all by herself!!!

Tricycle Riding Ballerina and More

One of Kate's favorite activities is riding her tricycle. She can ride real fast, too!

Kate can now climb on the counter and get all the snacks she wants....Yes, she had potato chips for breakfast on that particular morning, among other things!

Bath time is always fun!!!
