Happy Birthday Lukie!!

Seven years ago today God blessed us with a baby boy who challenges us and makes us laugh everyday. We love you so much Luke!!

Look at the picture of Luke from last year in the sidebar. He really has changed. He lost his baby teeth this year and even has braces now! I can't believe how fast they grow!

Braces For Luke

Lukie got his braces today!! I am sort of sad that he got them. I like his little little gap and buck teeth. I know it is for the best though.

He is very excited to get braces!! We will see how he feels about them 14 months from now when it is time to get them off!

A Horse Is A Horse Of Course Of Course.....

The first graders at Luke's school are having Western Days today. Our assignment was to make a horse out of a box. This is what we (meaning I) came up with...

My Happy Shopper

I have been trying to get a video of Wade clapping for about a week now. I just think it is so cute to watch him clap his hands. We happened to be shopping when he really felt like clapping for me. Usually he stops when he sees the camera but not today. What a sweet happy little boy he was today!!

Trip to Sacramento - Part Two

After Dena's and Grandma's birthday party we came back to camp to play. The first thing the kids wanted to do was go fishing. Kate caught a fish right away, but it broke the line. Rachel caught the next fish. He was pretty good size, but the hook was way down his throat so we had to cut the line. We were down to one hook, so we decided it was best for the fish if we did something else.

Dena and I played tetherball. I had not played since grade school. I lost every game, but it was still fun. I found out later that Dena had been the Playground Tetherball Champion when she was little. I on the other hand was never very good.




Dena got the go-cart out for the kids to ride. They had a good time riding around the camp.


Dena built us a camp fire and we all made s'mores. It was a great treat!

We had a good little trip. It was special to get to celebrate the birthdays with everybody and getting to visit Dena at her new camp.

Trip to Sacramento-Part One

Way back on April 1st our family headed to the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico to celebrate my Grandma's 93rd birthday and Dena's 32nd birthday. My Parents, Grandma, and Aunts had went to visit Dena, and Chris ended up with a three day weekend, so we decided to join them. Here is the view going up, up, up to Dena's house.

Eight Months

Wade, you are eight month old!!!

I know I can hardly believe it either!!!

Wade is doing just great!! He cut another tooth(he has eight total), said his first word, and traveled out of state this month. Since the weather is warming up he enjoys going for walks and watching the big kids play from his swing or walker outside. He has also started playing on the floor with his toys really well. He does not like his exersaucer much anymore:0( He still loves for you to sing to him. He also likes "splash time" or bath time.

Wade's first word was "bubble." That is what it sounded like the first day anyway. Now it has turned into a universal word. Sometimes it sounds like ba ba, bubba, or bye bye. Time will tell what he is saying. Mama was the other kids first word, so I don't know what to think. I have been working with him, but nothing that sounds like mama so far. Apparently he likes the b sound.

Wade is growing and changing everyday but one thing remains constant...the boy loves to eat!! He started feeding himself graham crackers. He is an expert at it now. You can put two on his tray and they are gone in no time. He eats all his fruits and veggies too.He and Amos have become much better friends here lately. I wonder why?
This is Wade with his favorite blanket...the only problem is that it is Luke's blanket. My Aunt Lorita made a blanket for all the kids. Wade's is white, but this blue one is softer so he has claimed it as his. You just try to take it away from him. If it helps him sleep I am all for it.

We have scheduled Wade's second eye surgery for May 12th. Please say a prayer for him that this surgery will do the trick.

One more thing, Wade has started giving hugs. He squeezes long and hard. His hugs are just wonderful!!!

My Brother Ate My Homework!!

Luke had to explain to his teacher how is brother ate his homework this morning. I have heard of the excuse that "my dog ate my homework," but not "my brother ate my homework." Too funny!!! Luke left his homework in the middle of the floor and Wade found it. He did not exactly eat it, but he drooled and chewed on it a little bit and scribbled on it too.
