Four Months

It is so hard to believe it has already been four months since this little guy arrived. He is growing and changing every day. On December 1st I took him to the doctor because he had been pretty fussy for a few days. He weighed 16 pounds 1oz. The doctor thought he had acid reflux because of the fussiness and spit up, so she changed his formula. The formula has seemed to help. On December 14th we took him for his well check and just look at how much he has gained in two weeks:

Stats at 4 month well check:

Height: 26 1/4 inches

Weight: 17 pounds 14 ounces

Almost 2 pounds!! This kid does not miss a meal....even at night. His sleeping at night has regressed some this month. He wakes up at 2am and 6am to eat without fail. He does go right back to sleep though...thank goodness!

He rolls from his back to his belly. He also has two teeth. He enjoys playing on the floor and in his timeout chair. He has started reaching for his toys on his exersaucer. He enjoys looking at his hands and eating his fists. Rachel wanted me to add that he likes to pull hair too!! He also loves the attention his brother and sisters shower him with all the time! He has a smile for everybody and loves to laugh...he is just so sweet!

I am still trying to make him a cowboy....

Thanksgiving 2010

This post is a little late because it has been a little crazy around here, but I wanted to get Thanksgiving posted before Christmas arrived, so here you go.

We went to Snyder to spend Thanksgiving Day with my side of the family. We had lunch at my Aunt Lorita's house. It was a delicious meal and a great day! Chris had worked the night before so he slept through most of Thanksgiving, but he came to Snyder to be with us.

After lunch we went to Grananna's and Grandpa's to visit with Grandnanna's family. The kids had fun running and playing with all the kids.

Friday we had all of Chris's mom's side of the family at our house. Below is the whole group minus one (DJ was MIA). We had 19 in all. It was great getting to all be together.

Granny gives the best massages...Wade would just lay there and soak it all in. We have tried to hold him this way, but we just don't have the right touch. Wade can't wait for Granny to come back for some more back rubs!
Wade really benefited from all the extra arms. Uncle Aaron even had some baby duty.
Daddy's Granny was Wade's new best friend...She got to hold him as much as she wanted, and Wade LOVED every minute of it!!! The best naps are when you are being held.
PawPaw's turn. I don't think Wade had to be put down the whole weekend. He was in seventh heaven!

We don't get together with Granny and Aunt Cara without playing beauty shop. Aunt Johnnie even had her hair done this time. I guess when Sydney gets bigger I will have to have mine done too.

We had such a great Thanksgiving weekend! We always enjoy getting to spend time with our family!!

Mama's Christmas Treasures

We have made a tradition of taking our babies pictures in their "My 1st Christmas" sleepers in front of the tree sitting on a present. I could not wait until Christmas to gets Wade's picture. I put these precious pictures out every year and I plan to forever. Can you guess who is who?

The End of An Era

Kate and Santa Claus have had a pretty rocky relationship right from the start....

The unloving feelings were all one sided though....Santa always loved her.
Last year he could barely hold on to her....
Many people felt sorry for "Poor Kate", but I just thought it was funny (and still do).
This year she was asking to go see Santa Claus for about a month. I did not know how the visit would actually go once we got there. We went for our annual trip to see Santa this weekend. Kate did not hesitate to tell him what she wanted for Christmas. There were no tears or screaming. We were so proud of her!! Our little girl is growing up, and the years that her Mama made her sit on Santa's lap for a picture did not traumatize her for life!!
Kate and Santa have a mutual love for one another now....She asked for a trampoline.
Luke asked for a X-Box, basketball goal, Star Wars DS game, and roller skates. He realized later that he did not ask for a basketball! Luke said he would have asked for more, but Santa told him to get down because it was his sister's turn!
Rachel asked Santa for an American Girl Doll and a snow cone machine.
Wade just wanted lunch!

Time Out

Wade started rolling over two days after he turned three months. Unfortunately he hates being on his belly, but can't resist the urge to roll over onto his belly. This is causing him terrible troubles. As soon as I lay him on the floor to play he rolls over. When he starts to fuss I flip him back over. He immediately rolls over again. I turn him back over. We repeat this scenario a few times. With each turn the fussing escalates to a screaming tantrum after about three or four times. He used to really enjoy playing on the floor, but now it is just frustrating for both of us. My solution is to put him in time out. Yes, I am putting my three month old in time out! This is his time out chair:

Model Knight

Luke was selected as the Model Knight from his class for the second six weeks of the semester! We are so proud of him!! The Model Knight Award is for outstanding citizenship. We are not really sure what happened but he must have smiled at his teacher a few times. The school had a little luncheon to honor the kids, so we got to go eat lunch with him yesterday.

Sorry about the picture. It was taken with our phone. Not the best picture of us but it is our proof we were there and Luke got the award.

Fiddlesticks Farm

We had some "Fall Family Fun" today out at Fiddlesticks Farm. We all had a blast jumping on the big "pillow", playing in the hay, petting the animals, sliding on the slide, going on the hay ride, riding the cow train, and eating lots of food. Here are a few pictures from today...

Wade just hung out today. He just enjoyed being out at the farm and looking around.


Kate went down the BIG slide by herself...she had a very scared look on her face. I avoided the slide after my mishap last year.

3 Months

Guess who turns three months today!?!?

Who me? Now, I guess you want to take more pictures of me.
This is what I think about that.
I will just try to eat my fist the whole time you have the camera out.
Ha Ha!! So you are just going to give up!

Wade is doing just great! He is such a good baby! He is happy most of the time. He likes to lay on the floor and play on his activity mat and watch his mobile in his crib. He has started batting at his toys and trying to roll over. He is consistently enjoying his bath now. He lets us know when he is hungry or tired. He has really found his voice the last few days. He is doing a lot of squealing! I think he is starting to cut a tooth because he is constantly trying to eat his fist and drooling a bunch. The last time we weighed him (last week) he was 14 pounds and 2 ounces. Wade is growing and changing every day. It just makes me sad it is happening so fast.
