RAIN Day!!!

There is no school today because of RAIN!!! Have you ever heard of such? The rain is very welcome, so I hope it stays all day!!  Kate decided to go jump in a few puddles while the rain died down for a bit.

Our part of town really is not flooded so bad, but the down town area and east of us is really bad. Midland floods really quickly with just a little rain. It had rained 2 1/2 inches this morning and they expected more to come today. We are just going to enjoy or RAIN Day. It may never happen again!!

New Favorite Pictures of Wade

I just love this little boy's smile and laugh!!! He is smiling and laughing most of the time when things are going his way. I was so excited when I actually caught one of those smiles on camera. Usually when the camera comes out he refuses to smile or look at the camera. 

He did not just give me one good smile but lots of them. Running down the little hills at the football game this past weekend made him very happy! In these pictures his hair looks like a torch!

Well yesterday Wade got a hair cut. Now he doesn't look like the little boy in the pictures. His last haircut was a disaster with lots of tears, so we have been putting off giving him another.  This time around there were no tears and he did great!! He ate candy, suckers, and cheese balls until she finished. I like the results!! The curls are still there just shorter.

Fall Soccer

Yay!! Soccer finally started!! We have been practicing since August, but Saturday was our first games, we had two.

Kate even enjoys the soccer games and practices because of all her soccer sister friends. She is more excited to go than Luke I think.

 This is Luke's buddy since Preschool. They met when they were two and were best friends until Kindergarten. We were so excited they ended up on the same soccer team this time!!

Memaw Linda and Granddad Bob came to cheer Luke on during the second game. They even got to see him make a goal!

We had two soccer games and a football game to cheer for on Saturday. That is a full day!! That is how it is going to be for the next several weeks for us.

Varsity Colts Cheer

This Saturday we kicked off the football season for the Varsity Colts!! Rachel has cheered for the Colts since third grade. This will be her last year as Colts Cheerleader. :0( But from the looks of it Kate will follow in her sister's foot steps in a couple of years.

I don't know how many times I told Kate to get off the fence. She just wants to go cheer with the big girls.

Wade was released from the stroller for a little while. He did really good at the game. Mama was relieved.

Wade could have a little girl friend if he wanted one, but he wants no part of it. He thinks she just wants his toys. She was so sweet to him. She would try to hold his hand and play with him. Maybe he will come around next time.

First Days, First Week, First Skates, and Other Firsts

The first day of school was great for the big kids!! Everybody liked their teachers!! Grandnanna and Grandpa even came to walk the kids home from school and hear about their first day!! What a special treat!!

The rest of the first school week went really well. Rachel got everybody up Monday and Tuesday. Then on Wednesday she got her and Kate dressed. Thursday and Friday she got herself up and ready and left the other two for me. This morning I had to wake everybody up. The new wore off after the first week. We started back with all our after school activities except Awanas and gymnastics. Those start this week. I like the routine of the school year but not all the running around we have to do after school. I should not complain because I was the one that signed them up and even paid money for the craziness but it makes our evenings rushed.

Saturday Luke was at a slumber party and the girls wanted to go ice skating so we headed to Odessa. Kate had never been before. I warned her she would have to hold onto the wall and she would fall a lot before she got the hang of it. Well she could skate right off with no problems. She wanted to do spins. She even tried to skate backwards but it looks more like she is dancing. Rachel and her friend made the remark that Kate was just showing off.

After the girls were done skating they wanted to do a little shopping. Kate then asked if she could get her ears pierced. She had been wanting to get them pierced and we were in the right place at the right time, so I said sure!! She picked out little purple rhinestone studs. She sat in the chair with a big smile on her face and not nervous at all. I just knew her mood would change the instant the guns went off, but she did not cry, flinch, or even stop smiling!!! I was shocked!! This is the girl who limps for hours after getting a shot.

Today was this little guys first day of Children's Day Out!! I was excited!! This is my first day alone in the house since May. He did good going in today. Thursday might be a different story. We will see. I had a fun day. I went to lunch with a friend and even went for a long walk. The day flew by.

I would never have thought in a million years I would ever buy a violin but today I did. Rachel wants to learn to play. They can learn to play a string instrument as part of music at school. I know the learning will be rough at first. Dixie will be really glad she is deaf!! I hope she really likes it.
