Another Snow Day....YAY!!

Midland finally got some snow. The rest of the state of Texas has been covered in several of inches of snow several times this winter. We have really been feeling left out, but this morning we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow. There was about 4 inches of snow!! School was cancelled!! The kids got up early and excited about the snow and no school. We ate our breakfast and got ready to head out to play. It as still snowing and cloudy but lots of fun!!

Our photographer....Chris got to be home with us too. He held the camera so nobody could throw snowballs at him.

Luke nailed me right in the face with a snowball....Chris managed to get a picture of it.

Kate loved throwing snowballs too....she would laugh each time.

Here is my leaning snowman. This was my second attempt. The first one was taller than me, but he fell over on me when I was fixing his face. I guess that is kind of like the fish that got away, but Chris and Luke were my witnesses. I guess I need to learn to build a better base on level ground.

We also made some snow ice cream. It was really good!! I got too much sugar in it because I can not read a recipe, but the kids did not complain.

The snow is already melting....that is the thing about snow around here it never stays long :(

Future Tattoo Artist

Well Kate got a hold of another marker. She always times it just before we have to go to church. I don't know why they say the markers are "washable" because I scrubbed her arms, but you can still see the marks on her arms and hands. They are a lot lighter but still there. UGH!!!! We are grateful she always chooses to write on herself rather than the walls, furniture, or carpet. Her Daddy snapped these pictures after she came in trying to wipe off the marks with a baby wipe.

Luke's Glasses

Luke got his new glasses today!! He was super excited to get them!! I think he looks adorable, but he also looks older and I don't like that one bit. We have been watching his eye sight real closely for the past year and a half. He finally reached the point where the glasses were a must. Poor kid inherited both bad eyes and bad teeth!

I threw this picture in to show that he has lost his first tooth. He has another that will soon follow.

Valentine's Weekend

We spent this past weekend visiting Chris's sister, Cara, and her family. We got to meet our new little nephew, Mac. He is so cute and such a good baby! We all enjoyed getting to hold him. I think he was held by someone the whole time we were there. It was such a treat to get to hold and cuddle him as much as we wanted!

I wish y'all could experience how LOUD this picture was!! They were having a screaming match.

The kids got to go swimming at the hotel. They were so excited. They got the pool to themselves.
I like this picture because Kate is floating on her back. She usually resists being on her back, but she voluntarily did it herself.

Big brother Ian will have a birthday next weekend. We are going to miss the party because Uncle Chrissy is working, so he got his present a little early. The kids all had a great time playing with Ian this weekend! He really enjoyed them too. I think the kids taught him how to be loud and crazy! It was fun to watch them play so well together.


Cara and Granny got their hair fixed before we left. Playing hair with Cara and Granny is a tradition that Rachel started and now Kate has joined in.
It was a fun and relaxing Valentine's weekend.

And One Week Later.....We Have a New Nephew!!!

The Stansell family has been blessed with two healthy babies only a week apart!! Chris's little sister, Cara, and her husband, Beau, are the proud parents of a bouncing BIG baby boy!!! Mac Andrew weighed 8lb 11oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. He even has a little bit of red hair on top of his head!! We can't wait to meet him.

Winter Pictures of Ceta Canyon

We went for a hike to the waterfall while we were at Ceta Canyon sledding. We were hoping to get to see the waterfall frozen. The temp reached about 40 degrees by the time we went on our hike and the snow had started melting.

The waterfall was not frozen, but it still looked really pretty.



I got really close to these deer. They were not scared in the least. Luke was even trying to scare them and I was getting on to him to be quiet.
