Easter at Fluvanna

We had our traditional Easter Egg hunt and Reunion at Fluvanna this year. This year the Reunion was at Fluvanna Baptist Church rather than the Community Center. The kids were a little upset about the change, but it worked out just great! 

 On Thursday before Easter Luke declared he did not want to hunt eggs this year at the Reunion. Unfortunately, Rachel was still planning to hunt, but she was feeling a little self conscious because Luke was not going to be hunting and she is older. She told Luke that there would be kids older than him hunting. He said "yeah just one...You!" :0) She pestered him enough he finally agreed to hunt with her. Momma was a little sad that they are getting too big to want to hunt.

I still have a few years to watch Kate hunt.

 And Miles.

 And Madison.

 And Sydney.

And Wade.

At least a couple more for Tenley too.

 But Rachel's egg hunts are numbered. :0(

Wade and Madison got rattles. They had a blast shaking them at each other. I did not get pictures, but Rachel got a butterfly and Luke a rattlesnake.

 Having the reunion at the church was kind of bittersweet for Chris. The church has recently disbanded and the building will be for sale soon. Chris was baptized in this church and his Papa had preached there. He wanted to get a last picture while we were there.

We all had a great time on Saturday!! We were very glad Chris was off and could come with us. It has been a few years since he has been off so he could come.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...Oh My!!

Before we headed home from Dallas on Monday we stopped off at the Ft. Worth Zoo. It had been a couple of years since we had been there, and I thought it would be fun for Wade. The weather was really pretty...big bonus. 

The monkeys were really not up to too much. They were actually pretty disappointing. I was hoping they would be swinging around and playing. We must have stopped by at nap time. There was not much of anything going on with the primates. The gorillas were at least awake. This guy sure does not look like he enjoys the zoo. I wonder if gorillas can smile?

There were some zebras out and about.

My favorite...the giraffe.

We caught the hippos yawning. They were mostly showing off their ability to hold their breath under water. It was like they did not want everybody watching them or something.

The white tiger was pretty cool.

Wade did enjoy his trip to the zoo. We stayed about 20 minutes too long for his taste, but he recognized the animals and was excited to see them.

Swimming Fun Weekend!!

This past weekend we got together with the Stansells and McLeods and had some fun swimming and just relaxing. These kiddos always have a blast when they can get together!!

The big kids playing. They were trying to push each other off the shoulders of the holder. They were having fun but poor Tenley was not quite tall enough to play this game. She would end up completely submerged.

It took Wade a very long time to decide to get his feet wet. He finally did and decided it might actually be fun to join everybody in the pool. He really did have fun swimming!! Momma was relieved he made the plunge on his own.

I think we need to find a hotel with a hot tub that holds about 20.

 We had a great weekend!! Thank you Grandnanna and Grandpa!!! Next time you should bring your swimsuits and join in on the fun!!

I have posted most of these pictures on Facebook, so they may be nothing new to you, but they make me giggle every time I think of them.

Kate dressed as a 100 year old woman for the 100th day of school. The look on her face is great!! She cracks me up!!

This is Kate after a long day of Kindergarten. It must have been rough!!

Wade has been potty training. He is doing great. One morning I came into the kitchen and found this on my couch. He made himself comfortable while doing his business.

This was after a long day with no nap. He fell asleep watching the only acceptable show on tv, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I just loved how his little hands were crossed.

The next day or so he fell asleep in the car and his hands were crossed again. He is so sweet when he sleeps.

Rachel's Valentines

Rachel decided she wanted to make her own Valentines for her class and friends this year. Owls are her new favorite thing. She found this idea on Pinterest. They turned out so cute!!! I am so proud of her!! She is very excited to give them out tomorrow. Luke even told her they were the most creative Valentines he has ever seen. And he really liked them. Now that is a compliment coming from your little brother!!!

This is Rachel's last year to have a class Valentine's Day party. :0( sniff sniff
