Halloween 2014

Wade has been asking me every day for almost a month if today was Halloween. Yesterday I finally got to tell him YES!! We were all excited for the big day! I love to see all the kids in their costumes!

Luke seems to have a theme every year. He always has a new favorite. This year it it Minecraft. He spends hours and hours playing Minecraft and watching other people play it on You Tube videos. He decided to be Steve, the lead character in the video game.

Kate wanted to be a kitty cat. She found this costume and fell in love. She is a tigress. This is totally a Kate costume.

Wade was Spiderman! I am in love with his muscles!! So cute!! He even has shoes that match.

Rachel went trick or treating with her friends. She needed a costume in a pinch and decided to be Batman. Turned out cute!!

Up, Up and Away

Memaw always comes to spend Halloween with us. She has the most important job of passing out our candy.

Pumpkin Patch

Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch is something I look forward to every year. The older kids have grown out of the pumpkin patch. Wade still likes to go and play with all the pumpkins. I love the Fall pictures!

Wade waited a whole year to get to pull the wagon again at the pumpkin patch. He even talked about it throughout the year. The wagons made an impression on him. He does have two wagons at home. I guess they are not the same.

Wildflowers

 A couple of weekends ago I took the kids out to get some new pictures of them. I thought pictures with some wildflowers would be pretty. On this particular day the kids were being silly, so the whole photo shoot was frustrating for me. Also, the lighting was not good either. It was too bright. I did manage to get a few good shots though. At least all my efforts were not for nothing.

This little guy is growing like one of these weeds. His arms and legs are getting really long. He keeps reminding me he is growing tall too. :0(

First Day of School 2014

Summer has come to a close and school has officially started. The kids were all excited for today. We were up bright and early getting ready for the big day!

Rachel is starting 8th grade. Rachel is ready for all her activities to start up again and to see her friends every day. I know she will have a great year!

 Luke is going into 5th grade. There are 31 kids in his class this year. We are not very happy about this. We are really hoping they add another teacher. He was really excited to get to pick his desk today....a little too excited to sit next to his friends. I predict that won't last long.

Kate is a big 2nd grader this year. Luke told her that her teacher did not look too mean. I hope he is right. Kate was pretty nervous when we left her this morning. We are praying for an easier year for her this year. 

On a different note, Kate lost another tooth last night at 11pm. I put them to bed at 9pm. Her tooth was not that loose. I hope she stays awake in class today. She is now missing four teeth on top and two on bottom. 

We are praying for a great year with lots of learning and new friends! I know they will do great, but I am already ready to pick them up. The house is quiet, and I can't wait to hear all about their days!

Snyder Car Show and Cruise

This weekend we headed to Snyder to the Snyder Wheels Car Show and Cruise. Wade is really into cars right now, and I thought he would really love seeing them. The square downtown was all decorated and had rows and rows of cool cars for him to see.

After lunch we headed over to the Burn Out Contest. This picture was taken before Wade understood what the Burn Out Contest meant.

.....I mean REALLY smokey and it smelled bad too. Luke is trying to hold his nose and cover his ears at the same time. The Burn Out Contest was a first for all of us. It scared Wade and it smelled really bad too. We should have been on the other side of the street out of the way of the direction of the wind/breeze. We did not last long before we decided we should go see some cars.

The end of a long day.

We had a great day at the car show! It was something different and fun to see. The food was really good too! Chris and I really enjoyed seeing all the cars on display. People put a lot of time and money into them making them perfect.
