Sisters Age 3

I had Kate's 3 year pictures taken a little early this year. I used the same dress Rachel had hers taken in because it is one of my favorites and I thought it would be fun to compare.

They actually look more alike than I thought they would.

Random Things

I caught these two cuddling on the couch Saturday morning. I just love that they can be so sweet to each other!!!

This picture should be titled "Tattletale".
Kate can swing herself now. Luke taught her the other day. He was very proud of himself and her. He came running in and told me to get my camera. I went to look first and sure enough she was pumping her legs like a pro. She refused to be filmed. I caught her swinging again a couple of days later, so she really has learned how. Luke and Rachel were closer to five years old before they would swing themselves. I am pretty impressed a two and a half year old (well almost three) has the coordination to swing herself!

On Sunday we found our last hard boiled Easter egg!! Luke had picked it up when he found it and I told him to put it down before it broke. Kate went into egg hunting mode and came running. I hollered, "No! Don't touch that egg!!!" So what did she do? Well she stomped on it like a bug!! Now the kids know what a rotten egg smells like!!

I wish I had save all the sand Luke brings home from school in his shoes and clothes. We could have had enough for our own sandbox by now. It is really ridiculous!! I picked up a pair of shorts while I was sorting laundry yesterday and the sand just poured out of his pockets. I think he must put handfuls in his pockets and shoes.

Chris's 35th Birthday

Chris turned 35 this past Sunday. He had to work on Sunday so we celebrated on Friday. He requested a German Chocolate Cake for the occasion. Let's just say it was delicious!!!!

He got a fancy new camera for his gift. He likes to take pictures of the accident scenes at work and this should do the trick. Now I don't have to share my camera anymore!!

Stage Fright

Kate had her first Preschool performance this afternoon. She followed the foot steps of her older siblings and did not perform. We were not surprised or disappointed because she just looked SO cute!!

We did get her to smile and wave at us!

They sang Old McDonald and Five Little Ducks. Here is some video of her not singing.

She did however sing Old McDonald for us when she got home. For the record she knows every word.

Too Cold To Swim!!!

This past Saturday Rachel had her first outdoor swim meet of the season. It was a little chilly to say the least...the temp was 60. Rachel bravely got in the pool for warm-up. The coach said the pool was warm. Rachel said it was not THAT warm, but warmer than it was outside the water. The problem was not the swimming it was the waiting for your event. She was so cold and shivering. I felt so bad for her. We had brought extra towels and clothes to help her stay warm, but it did not seem to do the trick. She competed in 50 meter backstroke, freestyle, and breaststroke. She did not win anything but she did a good job!!

The kicker to my story about how cold Rachel was is after the meet she had plans to go to a friends swimming/slumber party. Rachel was not looking forward to going swimming again, but she went to the party in hopes they had changed their minds about swimming. When she got there everybody was in the pool having a great time! She joined in and had a great time too! They swam most of the evening and again in the morning when they woke up. I am not sure if the temp ever got in the 70's on Saturday.

I Must Just Meet Expectations....Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day I really wanted a bench for the front flower bed. We had flagstone put in last year to make a little patio. I finally found what I had in mind. My VERY strong husband brought it home and set it up for me. The bench is concrete and must weigh about 300 pounds. I watched him unload it, but I am still not sure how he did it by himself. I am in search of flower pots to go on either side now.

The kids each made little cards at school. I treasure these cards each year....
