Chris's New Ride

On Memorial Day weekend Ft. Stockton had a surprise hail storm. I say surprise because it was too late for Chris to find cover for his car before he realized they were in a storm. Unfortunately Chris's car did not fair too well. He had many many dents all over his car and a busted back windshield.

Here are a few of the hail stones.

Chris's car was determined to be totaled. We were just planning to fix the windshield and he would keep driving the car, but the insurance actually offered us $3,000 more if we got a new car. That started us thinking because Chris's car already had 200,000 miles. So we started looking around. We both have wanted a Jeep for a few years now. He found us a 2007 model with 33,000 miles. It was in Abilene, so Chris had his Mom go look at it for us. She said it was spotless and looked good to her, so we headed to Abilene on Saturday and bought us a Jeep!!

They picked up Chris's Corolla yesterday morning. I was sure sad to see it go. I hate to get rid of a car that has never given us any trouble at all.

Rachel's Birthday Party

We celebrated Rachel's birthday with a pool party, pizza, and ice cream cake. It was a very fun day!! We had her party on Sunday because she left for camp on Monday.

I tried to take a few pictures before the party but the wind was blowing, so I did not get many good ones. Wade wanted in on the action. Any time I think I might get him to cooperate for pictures I take it, but he did not look my way or sit still long enough for pictures. He was just teasing me.

Rachel had a great party!! It was a fun day. She left for camp on her birthday. It was just not the same since she was gone on her real birthday. I know she had a fun day, but we missed her not being here.

Eleven Years Old!!

Happy Birthday Rachel!!!

It really seems like Rachel should be about Wade's age but today she is turning ELEVEN YEARS OLD!!! 

Some of Rachel's favorite activities and hobbies are piano, volleyball, swimming, basketball, cheerleading, cooking, jumping on the trampoline, painting her fingernails and toenails, playing with friends, watching the Disney Channel, drawing, painting, and shopping. And she is a pretty good speller!! Rachel made straight A's in school all year!! We are so very proud of her!!

Rachel has one personality trait that I really admire. She is always willing to try new activities and sports. She is very brave. She does not care if she has a friend there or not, although it is always nice to have one along. She does not get nervous performing in front of a crowd. I guess I get nervous enough for the both of us. I hope she never changes.

Rachel has two very exciting weeks planned. She leaves for church camp today. She will come home on Friday and then Saturday she will leave for Washington DC. Aunt Junie is taking her to Washington DC to see all the sights. She is going to have so much fun. Momma and Daddy are a little jealous. We are also going to miss her terribly. Two weeks is along time for Momma. I know Rachel will be having so much fun she won't give us a second thought.

We celebrated Rachel's birthday with a pool party yesterday. We had pizza and cake and lots of fun!! She got an ipod Touch for her birthday.

Some of Rachel's favorite foods are steak, potatoes, Ramen noodles, pancakes, muffins, waffles, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, ice cream, cookies, and cupcakes. Her favorite meal that I cook is little slider hamburgers.

At eleven years old Rachel is 5 feet 3 inches and weighs 82 pounds. She is just one inch shorter than I am. That might be just a little intimidating. I know all of my kids will out grow me, but I did not figure it would happen while they were in grade school.

We love you so much Rachel!!! We are very proud of the young lady you are growing into!! Happy Birthday!! We also hope you have a blast these next two weeks!!

These little triplets are in the new Pixar movie Brave. I think they look so much like Wade. They must have cloned him. I am just glad we don't have three of him!! I can't wait to go see this movie with the kids just so I can watch these little guys!! I wonder if there is an angry one with a bad temper that likes to scream?

Field Days

Today was Rachel's Field Day for school. She competed in the hurdles, 50 meter dash, and softball throw. Wade and I went up to watch for a while.

Wade will have been to so many field days by the time it is his turn either he will be a pro or be completely tired of them. Somebody gave him a sucker. It entertained him for a few seconds.

Lukie had his Field Day on Friday.

Kate was probably just as excited as Luke about Field Day. She always gets to play the games too. It is practice for next year when she is in Kindergarten and has her own field day. That is three field days for Momma next year. :0(

These are his two best buds in class this year. Luke is tall but these boys are extra short. They are the same height as Kate.

I can remember how much fun field days were when I was in school, but I don't remember it being this hot!! I know the kids will look back and just remember how much fun they had too and not the 100 degree temps.

Pool Time!!

Yesterday was Memorial Day and Chris was actually off work so we headed to the pool!! We were all excited to go swimming!! We were even more excited when we got to the pool and we were the only ones there for over an hour. Here is the gang all ready to jump in....

Wade is really not much of a water baby but he did great yesterday. I hope he can have fun at the pool because we spend a lot of time there.

Chris and Luke played catch. Luke would jump in the pool and Chris threw the football for him to catch before he hit the water. Luke caught this one.

It was a fun day at the pool. We were there for four hours. When we thought we would leave more of the kids friends would show up and they would want to stay. Luke even went back for more swimming  yesterday evening with his friend. Having a pool down the street has really be great for our family!!
