Since We Have Been Home...

It has been one week since Wade was born. He is such a sweet sweet baby, and we all just love him so much!! The kids are obsessed with him. They fight over who gets to hold him, sit by him in the car, pick out his clothes, and even talk to him. It is great to see how much they love him. His Mommy and Daddy could not be more in love with him either!! You don't realize how fast those feeling rush over you once they arrive. It really does not matter if it is your first or fourth...that part always amazes me.

I like this picture because it looks like he is smiling.
Wade has been a very good baby. The only times he cries is when he is getting his clothes or diaper changed and when it is time to eat. We are very thankful for this!! His first week has been very easy going for the most part. The big kids came home on Sunday and livened things up a bit, but it has been fun seeing their excitement. On Monday we took him for a check up and he weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces, so he is gaining his weight back.

He has proven to be quite the night owl. Our first night we were blindsided. Wade woke up about 10pm and did not got back to sleep, except 15 minute cat naps, until 5am. We took three hour shifts up with him. We must have went thru a dozen diapers and three outfits. I got wet on while changing one of the diapers. I even had my head in the right spot because I was trying to doctor his circumcision. It was like we had never taken care of a newborn before!! We were wiped out and all slept until about 11am. We have seen some improvement in his sleeping the past few nights, so maybe we are on the right track.

Here are some pictures of what little Wade has been up to this week:

He hung out in his crib some.
He had his first bath. This is him looking suspicious....

He did enjoy getting his hair washed....
but overall, his bath went about how I figured it would...he hated it!!!
He has had lots of snuggle time with his brother and sisters.

Sweet brothers...I think they kind of look alike too.

His Memaw Linda was here this week to help step in when his parents needed some help. She went home yesterday. He is going to miss her lots and so are we!

Luke has already found a nick name for his little brother....Wade-o the Tomato. Leave it up to Luke!
