Nine Months

This little guy is nine months old already! We went for his well check today, and he checked out A-Okay!!

Weight: 22lbs 5ozs - 80%

Height: 29 inches - 78%

We are excited to report he had a second surgery on his eye last week and it was a success!! We are very relieved to have this behind us. No more messing with this guys little eye. He is thrilled about this...he would scream when you went to wipe his eye.
Wade is such a happy baby. He loves to play on the floor with his toys. He has learned to crawl and started pulling up within the last week. There will be no stopping him soon. Watch out Rachel, Luke, and Kate!!
He has learned another new trick that Luke is particularly proud of, so just for laughs....

Off To The Races

It is official Wade can crawl!!! Last week he started sitting up from a laying position. This week he started scooting all around the floor on his belly. Today he started to crawl!!!

Life will never be the same for me, Wade, or the big kids. He is going to get into everything!!!

Mother's Day

Last weekend was Mother's Day. It was busy as always. Our holidays/birthdays seem to turn into week long celebrations rather than just one day. Since it was in honor of me I did not really mind.

My week started out with a girls night out to see the play Hairspray. This was not really intended to be part of my Mother's Day, but because of timing and that we had so much fun I will include it. Our neighbor invited us to dinner and a play for a girls night out. The food and play were great! It was a special treat to get to go out with only Rachel.

Later in the week Luke's class had a Mother's Day Tea. They served us tea and cookies, sang us a song, and read us a poem they had each written about their mom. It was so sweet.
Saturday we headed to Snyder for a Mother Daughter Tea at Calvary Baptist. It was a lot of fun! They had some good food, cake, and entertainment. We ran into Tenley, Sydney, and Johnnie while we were there.
Out table was decorated so pretty!

Not a great picture but oh well. Rachel had been sucking on a blue sucker and Kate was just being weird. There were several attempts at a picture but this was the best.

Saturday evening Snyder was having a Car Cruise through town. This is were all the old cars parade up and down College Avenue so everybody can see. Below the kids are waiting for the cars to come.

These are my flowers I got for Mother's Day. We also went to eat lunch at Abuelo's with our neighbors. I came home and took a nap. Any day that I get a nap is a good day!

This is the little poem Luke wrote and said at the Mother's Tea. I don't know if you can understand it, but he was sure cute reading it!!

"Alanna is her name,

And cleaning is her game.

Rosa's is her favorite thing to eat,

But the love she gives me is something I can't beat!"

God has blessed me with four beautiful kids that I would not trade for anything and a loving and supportive Mom of my own who is always there when I need her. Not to mention the BEST Grandma ever. I am definitely the lucky one in this whole deal!!

Easter 2011

Easter Weekend we headed to Snyder to celebrate with our family. Saturday morning we headed to the soccer fields to watch Tenley and Miles play soccer. They were so cute out on the field with their uniforms on.

Miles walked around holding his back for half the game. He even kicked the ball in with his hands on his back.
After the game we headed to the Annual Stansell Easter Reunion in Fluvanna. They have been doing some work on the community center and the grass was all tore up so the kids got to play on the new swings and slide in the dirt, but they did not mind one bit. The kids spent the day on the swings. They were happy as long as someone was there to push them.

Hangin' With The President

UPDATED:

There were two photographers taking pictures. This one was emailed to us later. It is a much better picture!!! Yay Chris!!

Last week President George W. Bush was bike riding with several other cyclists in Lajitas, Texas. Chris's helicopter crew was asked to be on call in case of an emergency. Thankfully, there were no emergencies!! When the 34 mile bike ride was over President Bush came over to meet everybody. Chris said he was shorter than he imagined and in really good shape.

I was so excited for Chris!! It is so cool that he actually got to meet and shake hands with the President!!! It is rumored that Lance Armstrong was there too, but Chris did not see him. He must have been overshadowed by President Bush if he was there.

Happy Birthday Lukie!!

Seven years ago today God blessed us with a baby boy who challenges us and makes us laugh everyday. We love you so much Luke!!

Look at the picture of Luke from last year in the sidebar. He really has changed. He lost his baby teeth this year and even has braces now! I can't believe how fast they grow!
